Summary:

Emotionshop is a student pitch project exploring how game mechanics evoke emotions. Our team of five created prototypes with each person making one game in 7 to 9 days centered around an emotional theme. We have made 28 games for 7 different emotions, namely, serenity, gloating, shame, daring, pride, hurt, and appreciation. Just like how there are art and music theory on the emotional effects of visual and audio choices, we hope to start a conversation about what kinds of gameplay and game mechanics are more effective in evoking certain emotions, what kinds are not, and why.

Our postmortem for each emotion is also featured in Gamasutra. The following are the links to each of the article:

1. Serenity

2. Gloating

3. Shame

4. Daring

5. Pride

6. Hurt

7. Appreciation

Emotionshop has also been selected to be one of the exhibitors in 2016 Different Games Arcade Exhibition in NYC.
